ABOUT ME

I’m Kathy, the heart behind Pawsitive Training, a force-free, science-based dog training and behaviour service I’ve run for over 4 years. With over a decade of professional experience, I work with dogs of all ages, breeds and backgrounds and have collaborated with vets, canine physiotherapists, behaviourists, trainers, day care, kennels and rescue organisations, giving me a well-rounded understanding of canine behaviour and welfare.

I am a qualified IMDT Dog Trainer, using modern, reward-based methods that are kind, effective and rooted in science. As a SA PRO Certified Trainer, I provide specialist support for dogs with separation anxiety, focusing on emotional welfare and long-term improvement. I am a PACT and ABTC member, demonstrating my commitment to high professional standards, ethics and continued learning. I am also recently  a Fear Free Certified Professional (FFCP), meaning I prioritise reducing fear, stress and anxiety. Together, these qualifications ensure ethical, force-free training that supports the whole dog and builds confidence and trust.

At home I share life with my ex-trotter horse Bella and my two Border Terriers, Badger and Beano.
